Who is it for?

Driving Ambitions Programme is exclusively for young people living in Sheffield and will focus on registering clients who are Not in Education, Employment and Training. The programme is available to those aged 16 to 18 years.

We provide training, work experience practical advice and support. We will help with:

Qualifications and achievements

Young People can undertake one or more of the following qualifications based on individual needs.

OCN - English as a Second Language
OCR - Basic Skills - Adult literacy: entry level, level 1 and level 2
OCR - Basic Skills - working with numbers (Adult Numeracy: Entry Level, Level 1 and 2 Certificates)
Basic Skills National Tests

ASDAN - Employment Planning covering: Personal Stocktaking; Positive Thinking & Goal Setting; Time Management, Organisation/Prioritisation; Strengths/Weaknesses; Short to Long Term Goals; Preparing a Back to Work Plan.

ASDAN - Finding Jobs covering: Application Process; Sourcing Vacancies; Preparing/Using a CV; Application Forms; Letters; Telephone Applications; Preparing for Interviews; Interview Performance; Skills Tests; Time Management/Organisational Skills.

How does it work?

Young People can refer themselves directly by telephoning or they can be referred by Connexions PA, Key Workers, Community Engagement Officers or Parents: you will then meet with one of our staff members for an initial interview. This interview will help us to assess your existing capabilities and for us to decide whether this, or a different form of training, will meet your particular needs.

These services are currently on offer at ETL Sheffield Centre and ETL Beighton (S20) and ETL Norfolk Park
