Women 4 Women (Sep 2006 - Dec 2007)

The Women 4 Women programme was awarded to ETL in September 2006 by the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) and was co-financed by European Social Funds (ESF). The aim of the programme was to help women from eligible areas of the East Midlands into self employment or to grow their existing businesses.

The programme was hugely successful throughout, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. Our entirely female team of business advisers all had first hand experience in business start up and growth and specialised in one or more of the fundamental areas of running a business e.g. Marketing, Sales and Personal & Professional Development …

A total of 304 women across these areas received initial support from one of our specialised business advisers. In December 2007 it was reported that thanks to the help, support and funding provided through the project that 87 Women had started a new business, creating a total of 119 new jobs in the area. Over 70 women reported that their business had improved, safeguarding a total of 126 jobs.

In December we hosted an awards ceremony at Clumber Park Hotel to celebrate the achievements of all the women on the programme. Over 200 people attended the event. We did our best to ensure that the suppliers used were all Women 4 Women businesses.

The entire team enjoyed been a part of the Women 4 Women project. We met and worked with some amazing entrepreneurs and hope that in the not to distant future we will have the opportunity to work with them again.
